From Albuquerque, Jorge is a first generation American to parents and family that are from Bolivia. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Business degree (boring), California Culinary Academy in San Francisco (fun) and his master’s degree in Adult Education from CSU (great). After working as a chef in San Francisco, Waikoloa, Vail and New York City and teaching culinary arts in Philadelphia, Jorge has enjoyed watching Denver become a great food destination while at Johnson & Wales University for 16 years and is the Dean of Culinary Education. It is so important to teach students about the ethics and responsibility of food service and that is why he is so excited to be a part of We Don’t Waste. Jorge loves to travel and find the hidden spots to eat wherever he goes with his family.
