Arlan developed a compassion for those in need through his experiences as a practicing attorney for over 40 years, and in volunteering with various local non-profit organizations including Urban Peak, Outward Bound West, Fresh Start, and as a Board Member of the Riverfront Park Community Foundation. He founded We Don’t Waste in 2009 to increase food security and reduce food waste. As Executive Director, he is committed to expanding its reach to serve vulnerable populations.
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Tim oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations of We Don’t Waste. This includes both food donation and food distribution, including the quality, safety, and balanced blend of the healthy food we provide to those who are hungry.
Tim is passionate about feeding hungry people. He is tireless in teaching food safety, in stressing the importance of nutrition, and in promoting the dignity and value of those we serve.
Tim joined We Don’t Waste after a long career in commercial real estate. He was an archeologist for many years before that.
Dana Van Daele
Dana was born and raised in Colorado and has a passion for helping others, and a strong commitment to her family, friends, and community. Through her philanthropic work, she has helped both donors and recipients make the world a better place. Dana has volunteered with We Don’t Waste for the last five years.

Director of Social Media & Administrative Assistant
Sarah has always had a passion for helping others. If you asked nine-year-old Sarah what she was going to do when she grew up, she would tell you “Feed all the starving children in Africa.” Sarah graduated from Colorado State with a degree in Communications, minor in Sociology and Certificate in Woman’s Studies. After graduation Sarah moved to Denver and began working in the tech industry. Sarah realized there are plenty of hungry people right here in Colorado. She began volunteering with We Don’t Waste in late 2014. She is passionate about health, food and helping others.
Bronco Game Volunteer Coordinator
Maggie was born and raised in Michigan as the first child of a single mother. She developed great gratitude for WIC, food stamps, and the love from her grandparents for the opportunity for health. After completing an A.A. in English through Florida scholarships, she moved to Colorado. Maggie found peace and inspiration from the landscape and lifestyle, as well as a passion to empower others toward well-being. Maggie earned her B.S. in Human Nutrition-Dietetics from Metropolitan State University at Denver and you can find her advocating community health, teaching fitness classes, gleaning, and playing in the Colorado wonderland.
Andrea began volunteering for We Don’t Waste in 2010 when she was asked to organize 15 – 20 volunteers to recover excess food from the 141 suites at then Invesco Field at Mile High. Andrea continues as Volunteer Coordinator with We Don’t Waste as it begins its fourth season at Sports Authority Field at Mile High–a great opportunity for corporate team-building and community service! In addition to serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for We Don’t Waste, Andrea serves on the committee that organizes the annual We Don’t Waste Fill A Plate for Hunger event and is always available to assist and promote the mission of We Don’t Waste.

Matthew, born and raised in Chicago where he cultivated a background within the Mental Health field as well as many forms of Dementia and individuals with Special Needs. He has created a path of care and compassion that which is now focused on another aspect of our community in need. Driven by belief for caring for those around him, he strives to instill a change in the world.

Andrew, or Drew to his friends and family, was born and raised in Denver. Drew has always had an interest in helping others which has inspired him to volunteer at a variety of philanthropic organizations including one of Denver’s largest food banks. Before coming to work for We Don’t Waste, Drew worked as an outdoor education instructor and outdoor guide. Now, he is happy to be educating the people of Denver about food insecurity and doing his part to help feed the hungry every day. The last year at We Don’t Waste has been a simultaneously eye-opening and gratifying experience to the harsh realities faced by many Coloradans.
Won’Drae Hart is a passionate artist, and a lover of creation. A Colorado native and a graduate of George Washington High school, having overcome adversity with ambition and smiles. An enormous love for people, eager to inspire and help his soul brothers and sisters thrive. After all, why step on someone’s toes, when you can offer a humble helping hand? Dare to Be an Artist.
