1 in 3 Coloradans experience food insecurity – Help us provide families Free food for a year at a mobile market

Saving Food • Protecting the Planet • Feeding People

In 2020, We Don’t Waste provided free food to more than 4,630 households in the Denver metro area through our Mobile Food Markets. We estimate that it costs about $50,000 per year for each market location and we want to do more! We are so grateful for every five dollars (or more) that you donate through the Word of Thanks micro-giving campaign will help us save more food and feed more people.

We couldn’t do this work without the support of our community. Huge thanks to Kyle Clark at the team at 9NEWS for their support!

Expanding our mobile food markets

Our Mobile Food Markets provide diverse, nutritious foods to hundreds of families each week. Each market is located in a food desert (areas with limited access to healthy food) ⏤ though these locations can be more accurately described as food apartheids once we acknowledge that racial injustices and economic policies have shaped a landscape without access to affordable, fresh, and nutritious foods.

To address this problem, We Don’t Waste developed our Mobile Food Market initiative to reach further into the community, serving people with healthy, nutritious food, such as fresh fruit, vegetables, lean protein, and dairy. We do all of this free-of-charge and never charge our food recipients or food donors.
